GRILLED, BAKED POTATOES

Potatoes are a good source of fiber, keeping you filled while simultaneously aiding in the loss of weight. Fiber contains a good flavour and medicinal effects that potentially help reduce, prevent, and lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2, and colon cancer, to mention a few. Potatoes contain vitamins and minerals that aid in the proper functioning of the body.

 Cooking and baking are indeed the most common ways of preparing potatoes at home, but have you ever tried grilling your potatoes, served with grilled chicken wings and a milkshake by the side?

Ingridents

  1. 6 large yellow potatoes
  2. 1/3 cup olive oil
  3. 1 teaspoon ground dried Daarhoda pepper
  4. 1 tsp onions powder
  5. For garnish: crumbled cooked bacon.
  6. Cheddar cheese, shredded or thinly sliced.
  7. Salt

The process

  1. Before grilling, it is important to first cook the potatoes to ensure all flavours (oil, salt, seasoning, and pepper) are absorbed into the meal once on the grill.
  2. Ensure you prick potatoes on all sides with a fork and grill them at a medium-high temperature of 350º for 45 minutes to an hour in foil to protect them from flames and easier handling.
  3. Upon removal from the grill, let it cool for 2 minutes before using a spoon to add cheese and other desired toppings, then serve.
